The hardworking and ever-evolving Shae Dupuy is determined to push her talents as an artist, vocalist, and songwriter to another level. Following the successes of her first two studio EPs, the Kamloops, British Columbia born, and Cambridge, Ontario raised artist headed south to Nashville to immerse herself in the city’s vibrant songwriting scene. It is there that Dupuy has written a catalog of songs for her next recording project as well as for other artists. Her new single is set to release this fall, with her third studio album coming in 2020. This new music promises greater vocal expression, matured storytelling, and a stronger sense of identity and conviction as an artist and as a person than ever before.
Having displayed a musical affinity as a young child, first taking up vocal and guitar lessons at the age of 8, and attending a specialized arts high school, on the day of her graduation, Dupuy immediately launched her career by releasing to radio her single Grandpa’s Truck in 2014. Grandpa’s Truck attracted the attention of Country Music Television (CMT) Canada, which named her its ‘Fresh Face Artist’ in Fall that year. In 2016, with the release of her second EP Brave, she garnered nominations for the CMAO ‘Rising Star’ and ‘Music Video of the Year’ awards, for her songs Tin Man and Drink About It, respectively. Dupuy went on to earn nominations for the CCMA ‘Interactive Artist” award in 2017.
With many festivals already under her belt, Dupuy headlined the ‘Let The Good Times Roll’ tour in 2018, in which she performed dates across Canada, making stops in British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Nova Scotia. Dupuy has opened for country acts such as Cold Creek County on their 2018 tour and for Dallas Smith and Jess Moskaluke during the 2015 Lucknow’s Music in the Fields festival.
Dupuy shares writing credits with the top namesakes in country music, and with such a strong track record of writing, recording, performing, and touring, 2019 is shaping up to be an exciting year for her with new music on the horizon.
